AFSANI has embarked upon several projects in line with our mission of
"promoting peace, unity, and harmony". Below you will find more
information on our community service efforts. ASOMDWEE FIE,
Elmina, Central Region, Ghana Distance Learning Project is ongoing. The village will be the first "Cyberspace Village" in the Central Region. The project design includes links to the local as well as international Internet system. Among other usage plans for this system is the opportunity for teacher and student exchange classes to be held and transmitted internationally. Computer Learning Center and Library supports the village's Primary and Junior Secondary Schools. The building complex is equipped with computers, computer software, furniture and other necessary items. The library that houses books on many topics supports the literary curriculum of both schools. Surrounding villages and university students also use this complex. This is an ongoing project of support, updating equipment and providing books. Atonkwa Health Clinic is a facility that primarily uses traditional healing modalities (herbs and techniques). However, this is sometimes integrated with allopathic medicine. It is run by a licensed Nurse, a visiting physician and a Native Doctor (traditional herbalist). In addition, this facility will institute a feeding program for all school age children to feed them breakfast and lunch. This program will also provide jobs for village residents. Atonkwa Community Center is a multi-purpose building designed to meet the vocational and extra-curricula needs of the village population, provide a space for meetings and celebrations, and to serve as the central location for community activities.
