Okomfo Afua Nsia Korantemah Afua Nsia Korantemah was born Nina Sattia' M'Lee Cadney
on October 12, 1979 in Nsia spent most of her childhood in Birmingham, Alabama. She was raised by a very supportive family with the majority of the members living within walking distance of one another. This close knit family served as the foundation for her understanding of African culture. During her upbringing, she had a deep interest in her African heritage. Nsia's deep respect and constant interest in African culture was evident throughout her upbringing. So much so that her grandmother often referred to her as her "African baby." While attending high school at the Alabama School of Fine
Arts, Nsia's individuality was enhanced. In 1997, she decided to explore
a path different from that of her peers by traveling to Washington, DC
to attend Howard University, where she received her Bachelor's degree
in Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work. Without a spiritual
home, Nsia was constantly looking for a spiritual system that In 2002, her spiritual blueprint led her to begin priest training as the first Okomfowaa to the Obosom Nana Adade Kofi. Since then, Nina has transformed to Okomfo Afua Nsia Korantemah and she continues to follow the path of her Ancestors. |
